Our story

Four generations on the same red dirt.

A dairy route, a couple thousand acres of row crops, and now a farm that sells straight to the people who eat what it grows.

In Patrick’s words

Just food you can trust, straight from the source.

Some of my very earliest memories are of my great grandfather, Joseph “Shy” Powell, and farming. He began his farming career as a dairyman, milking his own cows and delivering fresh milk to local customers on a daily route. I grew up riding on the armrest of a tractor seat beside my dad as he worked these fields for my grandfather, M.M. “Papa” Shivers, and later I operated some of those very same tractors in these fields as I worked for my father, Steve.

I am the fourth generation to work this south Georgia red dirt, but I am the first to grow many of the crops that I now grow here. The previous generations grew three or four different crops per year on a couple thousand acres. I now grow anywhere from 12 to 17 different crops per year on just a few hundred acres.

The farm has shifted away from traditional industrial agriculture and more into direct to end consumer products, with a focus on healthy, non-GMO, fresh foods. No preservatives, no middlemen, and no nonsense. Three generations later, the farm has returned to its direct to end consumer roots.

Our corner of Georgia

Four generations, rooted in southwest Georgia.

Our family farm is tucked between Blakely and Fort Gaines, not far from Kolomoki Mounds State Park and the “big city” of Bluffton.

Shy Powell started as a dairyman with a daily milk route. Papa Shivers and Steve ran row crops on a couple thousand acres. Today the farm is a few hundred acres, a dozen or more crops a year, and a shop on Bluffton Road.

The farm’s exact location stays private. This is a regional orientation, not a directions map.
